As other leading cancer rates and deaths fall, colorectal cancer’s impact grows
Over the past several decades, we’ve made incredible progress in preventing and treating many leading killer cancers. However, the rise in colorectal cancer diagnoses—especially in adults ages 20-49—is alarming. In men and women in this age group, colorectal cancer is the #1 and #2 leading killer cancer, respectively. This appears to be a mismatch with current recommendations for patients to begin colonoscopy screening at age 45.
