Clinicians are spending a lot of time checking and correcting AI’s work.
Generative AI has been hailed as the provider’s ultimate time saver, helping them prevent administrative burnout. But with a majority of surveyed clinicians reporting that they’re spending an hour or more reviewing or correcting information generated by AI, it seems the tools are not quite living up to their potential—yet. As GenAI becomes more entrenched in medicine, we need to ensure providers are using tools that actually make their jobs easier, whether that means better training, more stringent vetting processes, or more tool specialization.
